Product Overview
Beryllium Copper 275C (UNS C82800) offers the highest strength and hardness of all the standard BeCu casting alloys combined with excellent wear resistance and outstanding fluidity in the liquid state. The high beryllium content gives 275C its superior hardness and wear resistance after age hardening while the excellent fluidity allows extremely fine detail reproduction in ceramic mold and pressure casting processes. A key practical advantage of 275C is that it has the lowest pouring temperature of all the BeCu casting alloys – this lower processing temperature reduces energy consumption; minimizes beryllium oxidation during melting and pouring; and allows almost any type of molding process to be used including wax-based investment; ceramic shell; sand; and pressure casting. Beryllium safe handling protocols apply to all operations. Forms: 1/2 and down polished shot; 1/2 x 14 mesh unpolished shot; and 2-5 lb ingot.
